The Industrial Production Index adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects presented a variation of 0.6% in September with respect to the same month of the previous year. This rate was 0.7 points higher than that registered in August.
The original series of the IPI experienced an annual variation of 0.1%. This rate was 4.0 points higher than that of August.
By sectors, and in indices adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects, Energy (2.3%) presented the highest annual rate. On the other hand, Capital goods (-2.9%) registered the lowest.
Monthly evolution of industrial production
The monthly variation of the Industrial Production Index (IPI) between the months of September and August, eliminating seasonal and calendar effects, was 0.5%. This rate was 0.6 points higher than that observed in August.

The annual rate of industrial production increased as compared with September 2023 in eight Autonomous Communities and decreased in the other nine.
Aragón presented the greatest increase (5.9%) and Canarias the sharpest decrease (-8.1%).
