The Canary Islands closed the second quarter of 2026 with an uneven evolution of the main tourism indicators, where the increase in spending per visitor and employment compensated for the drop in the volume of tourists and occupancy. Faced with the moderation expected for the coming months, the economic profitability of the sector was sustained thanks to a higher average expenditure per traveler and the growth of accommodation income. This is clear from the Tourism Situation Report for the second quarter of 2026, prepared by Corporación 5, Analysis and Strategies for EXCELCAN and the Gran Canaria Chamber of Commerce.
