In November 2024, the General Industrial Turnover Index (ICN) showed an annual decrease of -2.0% in the original series and -0.4% in the series adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects.
On a monthly basis, the index grew 0.9% compared to October, eliminating seasonal and calendar effects, marking an improvement of 2.1 points compared to the previous month.
By markets, all geographical destinations recorded negative annual rates, with the foreign market of the euro zone standing out with a drop of -5.9%.
By economic destination, Energy (12.8%) and Capital Goods (1.5%) had positive monthly rates, while Durable Consumer Goods (-0.9%), Non-Durable (-0.7%) and Intermediate Goods (-0.4%) showed decreases.
At the regional level, seven autonomous communities recorded increases in turnover, led by the Balearic Islands (17.8%) and the Principality of Asturias (16.9%). On the other hand, the largest falls occurred in Comunidad Foral de Navarra (-9.2%) and Comunitat Valenciana (-8.9%).
This panorama reflects an annual contraction in industrial activity, although with slight signs of recovery in the short term.
