INE publishes the Statistics on Transfers of Property Rights (ETDP)

The number of transferred properties registered in the land registries (from previously executed public deeds) in September was 195,480, which was 27.3% more than in the same month of 2023.

In the case of registered property sales and purchases, the number of transfers was 113,777, with an annual growth of 37.7%.

Purchases registered in the Land Registers

89.1% of the sales registered in September corresponded to urban properties and 10.9% to rustic properties. In the case of urban properties, 61.0% were purchases and sales of dwellings.

The number of sales and purchases of rustic properties increased by 16.9% in September in annual rate and that of urban properties by 40.8%. Within the latter, housing sales and purchases recorded an annual increase of 41.5%.

Sales registered in the land registers

92.4% of the dwellings transferred by sale and purchase in September were free and 7.6% were protected.

In annual terms, the number of free dwellings transferred by sale and purchase increased by 41.3% and that of protected dwellings by 43.6%.

Of the dwellings transferred by sale and purchase in September, 20.2% were new and 79.8% were used.

The number of transactions on new dwellings increased by 54.9% with respect to September 2023 and that of used dwellings by 38.4%.

Results by Autonomous Community

Aragón (52.2%) and Comunidad de Madrid (43.4%) recorded the highest annual rates of change in September in the total number of properties transferred.

On the other hand, Comunidad Foral de Navarra (12.0%) and Canarias (15.2%) presented the lowest annual rates.

In terms of registered merchantings of dwellings, the Autonomous Communities with the highest increases were Extremadura (79.3%), País Vasco (67.4%) and Principado de Asturias (57.3%).

On the other hand, Comunidad Foral de Navarra (18.0%), Illes Balears (18.5%) and Región de Murcia (32.2%) recorded the lowest increases.
