13.1% growth in business creation in Spain in January
The Canary Islands experienced a significant increase in business creation during the month of January 2024, with growth of 13.1% compared to the same period of the previous year. This positive data adds to the national growth of 13.1%, which indicates a favorable economic outlook for the creation of new businesses.
Regarding subscribed capital, this also experienced a notable increase in the Canary Islands, with an increase of 65.0% compared to January 2023. This increase reflects investors' confidence in the economic potential of the Canary Islands.
At the national level, a total of 10,716 commercial companies were created in January 2024, while the subscribed capital amounted to 914.3 million euros. The economic activities with the highest number of companies created were commerce (18.5%) and real estate, finance and insurance (16.9%).
In the case of capital increases, 3,634 operations were registered in January 2024, which represents an increase of 5.4% compared to the same month of the previous year. The capital subscribed in these increases amounted to 2,441.4 million euros.
These positive data confirm the upward trend in business creation in Spain, which is a key indicator of the country's economic dynamism.
