The number of mercantile companies created increased by 3.9% in August with respect to the same month in 2023.
The number of dissolved companies increased by 0.9% compared to the same month in 2023.
In August, 6,874 mercantile companies were created, 3.9% more than in the same month of 2023. The capital subscribed for their incorporation recorded an annual decrease of 76.7% and the average capital subscribed (55,112 euros) decreased by 77.6%.
On the other hand, 1,806 companies increased their capital, 16.9% less than in August 2023. The capital subscribed in capital increases fell by 35.4%.
The number of mercantile companies dissolved increased by 0.9% in annual rate. Of these, 79.4% did so voluntarily.
Results by main economic activity
19.4% of mercantile companies created in August corresponded to Real estate, finance and insurance and 18.4% to Trade. As for the companies dissolved, 22.5% belonged to Trade and 14.7% to Construction.
Results by Autonomous Community
Comunidad Foral de Navarra (60.8%), Cantabria (58.1%) and Principado de Asturias (53.0%) presented the greatest annual increases in the number of mercantile companies created in August.
On the other hand, the Basque Country (-18.6%), the Canary Islands (-11.6%) and Andalusia (-9.1%) recorded the largest decreases.
