Main results:
- The annual rate of the Business Turnover Index stood at 1.3% in the series adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects and at 1.2% in the original series.
- The ICNE recorded a monthly rate of -1.8% without seasonal and calendar effects.
The General Business Turnover Index (BTI) adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects presented a variation of 1.3% in May as compared with the same month of the previous year. For its part, the original series experienced an annual rate of 1.2%.
The seasonally and calendar-adjusted indices presented positive annual rates of change in two of the sectors analysed and negative in the other two. Non-financial market services recorded the largest increase (6.5%) and Electricity and water supply, sewerage and waste management the largest decrease (-12.1%).
Monthly evolution of the ICNE
The monthly variation of the ICNE between the months of May and April 2024, eliminating seasonal and calendar effects, was -1.8%. This rate was 6.3 points lower than that of the previous month.
Revisions and updating of data
The INE has today updated the ICNE data for the last 13 months. In the case of the adjusted series, following the INE standard, they have been revised since their beginning. All the results of this operation are available in INEbase.
